COBRA Continuation Coverage Assistance Under ARRA
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) was amended on March 2, 2010.
The Temporary Extension Act of 2010 (TEA, now extends the eligibility period for COBRA subsidy to March 31, 2010 instead of the previous extention date of February 28, 2010.
Those Assistance Eligiable Individuals (AEI) who are involuntarily terminated between 3/1/10 and 3/31/10 are now eligible to receive the subsidy.
Other changes include clarification of COBRA subsidy’s relevancy to those who suffer from a reduction in work hours.
