Dependent Child Life Insurance Coverage Extended to Age 26 for UHC Members
In the spirit of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and with a desire to provide the best possible products and services for our customers, UnitedHealthcare will extend Dependent child Life Insurance coverage to age 26 and will no longer apply student or marital status requirements for Dependent children less than 26 years of age.* The changes are effective on Policy renewals on and after September 23, 2010.
Please note: these changes are not reflected in the Dependent child definition of current Certificates. Certificates will be re-issued with language that reflects this change only if a plan change requires a new Certificate.
